Our collaboration with POREIA spans about 10 years since 2012. From the first moment we developed an impeccable relationship based on trust and mutual respect. It is our pleasure to work with them and we wish them to continue their great work with the same consistency and love for people in need.

A few words about POREIA A.M.K.E. 
The Hellenic Center for the Promotion of Social & Mental Health - POREIA A.M.K.E. is an Urban Non-Profit Company with charitable purposes, founded on March 1, 2002 with headquarters in Athens. Its broader purpose is to promote actions aimed at addressing mental health and social exclusion problems and empowering the individual to be an active citizen within their own environment, with autonomy, economic activity and social integration. It operates a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Unit where 15 people with severe mental retardation and secondary mental illnesses are accommodated and a Protected Apartment for four (4) people suffering from mental illness. These actions have the effect of continuing the care, support and psycho education of the individual, informing and raising public awareness as well as combating the stigma of mental illness. Our main concern is to promote the individual’s stay in the community, thus aiming to reduce the number, but also the intensity of relapses and, by extension, his hospitalizations. 

What reasons prompted you to work with Boroume? 
From the first moment of our communication with Boroume we found that we were dealing with an excellent organization and also with an excellent team. Their professional attitude and at the same time pleasant and warm communication with them won us over immediately. We saw an extremely sensitized group whose main goal was to support fellow human beings by covering a basic need, food, but also to promote a "new culture" which envisages that surplus food should not be thrown away but used in the interest of fellow human beings. The opportunity given to each of us to offer with just one phone call, through Boroume, gives joy to both sides, both to the one who wants to offer and to the one who accepts the offer and sees that his fellow man is there for him. 

How did you find out about Boroume? We discovered Boroume in 2011 through an internet search. We read about the purpose of the organization and thought we could work together. We contacted the Boroume team and set up a meeting. That was the beginning of our extraordinary collaboration.

Can you describe your collaboration with Boroume in two words? 
In two words, it is excellent, flawless.... and because two words are not enough, a third one... excellent!
