Become a Boroume volunteer

Boroume is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce food waste and to fight malnutrition in Greece.
 
1) A volunteer at the House of Boroume for the program "Saving & Offering Food" (office work) 
  • Communicates by phone with individuals, companies and charities with the goal of placing donated food 
  • Offers at least 5 hours a week from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Supports the team on a weekly or seasonal basis when the need arises
  • Smiles because he or she is having a good time and feels that his or her participation is extremely important!  
What we need from you
  • Knowledge of Greek (written and spoken), the ability to use email, Word, Excel and preferably WordPress and the ability to easily work with the web and the phone.  Optimism and positive energy should be part of your personality and you should possess strong organizational and communication skills. 
2) A volunteer for the program "Boroume at the Farmers' Market" (work outside the office)
  •  After a brief informational and training session, the volunteer participates in activities involving the collection of donated products leftover from farmers' markets and their placement with local charities. 
 What we need from you
  • You should be optimistic, have good communication skills and like to work as part of a team.
3) A Volunteer for the program "Boroume Gleaning" (work outside the office) 
  • Expresses his interest and when there is a need the volunteer is contacted to participate in a "Boroume Gleaning" activity. After a short training session, the volunteer picks fruits or vegetables that have been left in the field.
