"The Journey of Food" continues in the 2025–2026 school year!

Mon 10 November 2025

The fully educational journey we made during last school year gave us the impetus to return dynamically again this year, with the aim of reaching even more children.

Since October 2024, "The Journey of Food" has brought together thousands of students in every corner of the country, through awareness workshops and educational visits to farmers' markets, highlighting the importance of reducing food waste and healthy and sustainable nutrition.

The large participation from schools, pupils and Municipalities throughout Greece that embraced the Program promises another full school year. Our results for the school year 2024-2025:

  • Awareness workshops to reduce food waste and promote healthy and sustainable nutrition: In total, 2,862 awareness workshops  were held in 923 schools with the participation  of 57,455 students, in 194 Municipalities, throughout Greece.
  • Educational visits to farmers' markets: In total, 72 educational activities were carried out in farmers' markets, with the participation  of 54 schools and 449 students, in 18 Municipalities* throughout Greece. From these actions, 9,392 kilos of fresh fruit and vegetables were rescued and offered to the Social Services of the Municipalities.

The implementation of the program continues dynamically in the new school year, and will be completed in December 2025. As of September 2025, 11,751 students in 214 schools have attended the Program.

If you would like to participate in the Program, you can register your interest here or email us at [email protected].
