The program "We are Family - COVID 19" was successfully completed in collaboration with SNF

In these difficult times and in the face of the common enemy called COVID-19, the only logical response for Boroume was to find even more collaborations to further increase the social impact of our actions, namely to provide food support to socially vulnerable people.

It is in this context that our new collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) was created, half a year ago, which is part of the SNF Global Relied Initiative for the COVID-19 pandemic, and aims to support people in need.

Utilizing the already existing "We Are Family" program of Boroume, which turns cash donations into supermarket vouchers to buy food through municipal social structures, from September to December 2020, delivered a total of 19.760 vouchers to 9.880 single beneficiaries of 200 Municipalities throughout Greece.

Through many challenges, such as new traffic bans, floods in Thessaly and closure of municipal services due to COVID-19 cases, AB Vassilopoulos, the partner supermarket of this cooperation, managed to deliver 4.940 vouchers per month on time to the 200 municipal social services, which in turn delivered them to the selected beneficiaries.

Judging by the extremely positive response we received from the Municipalities in literally every corner of our country, we are very happy and grateful to SNF and AB Vassilopoulos for this cooperation. Finally, we would like to warmly thank our partners in the 200 Municipalities, who in many cases, due to the special circumstances, were forced to exceed their capabilities in order to deliver in time all the vouchers to their beneficiaries and thus provide them with significant support in these difficult days.
