The new House of Boroume is ready

The truth is that we were sad when we were forced to leave our favorite office in Monastiraki from where we started our activity in 2012.

There were many concerns about the change … how and where we could find another office, finance the necessary changes in the space, cover the rent, have good access, would our volunteers come with the same comfort and joy, would we continue to operate as effectively as before?

We drew strength for this whole project from the belief of our beloved volunteer Katerina Vlassopoulou, who reassured us early on by telling us: “Do not be afraid, space does not make people, but people make space and as they filled the first office with wonderful vitality and smiles, so they will in the next one!”

So, within a few months both a suitable space was found (thanks to AB Vasilopoulos and especially Alexia Machaira), and a donor for the many construction interventions (thanks to JTI and especially May Samourkas), and IKEA supporting us generously with appliances and furniture (they had given us the first ones in 2012!) and Phoenix4Hellas covering other expenses by supporting us once again!
