Ten years of valuable collaboration with AB Vassilopoulos!

Since the launch of Boroume until today, we have saved and offered a total of more than 70 million portions of food. We are honored, happy and touched by the contribution of each donor and each portion in order to reduce food waste and strengthen the food support of our fellow human beings.

We are particularly happy and grateful for our collaboration with AB Vassilopoulos. For ten years, we have developed a pioneering approach aimed at rescuing & donating food to charitable organizations by the retail sector.

Our cooperation started as a pilot in the summer of 2013 with 3 stores and since then it has expanded to more than 300 stores throughout Greece, with the food offered to our fellow human beings in need amounting to many millions of portions!

On the one hand, the social impact of the program is remarkable, as it covers in many cases up to all the food needs of an organization and its beneficiaries, and on the other hand the significant positive environmental impact thanks to the prevention of food waste.

On a daily basis, through the company's program "Love Foods", foods that are withdrawn from the shelf due to a short use-by date or "damaged packaging" are offered to local charitable organizations collaborating with Boroume. The types of products offered, subject of course to the prescribed food safety rules, include dry shelf products, cooked meals, packaged fruits & vegetables, as well as packaged and frozen items.

As Boroume and on behalf of the thousands of beneficiaries throughout Greece, we would like to express our most heartfelt thanks to AB Vassilopoulos!

In addition to this very important cooperation, AB Vassilopoulos is firmly by our side, providing valuable support to Boroume for its operation (e.g. providing property that houses the House of Boroume) and the implementation of our programs (e.g. supplies for awareness raising and education actions).

Finally, when after years of trying to create a national alliance to reduce food waste with funding as the main obstacle, AB Vassilopoulos was once again by our side. Expressing full confidence in Boroume, it provided the initial funding and has continued to provide support ever since, making possible the creation and operation of the most ambitious project to reduce food waste in Greece. The "Alliance for Food Waste Reduction" in Greece already counts 79 Partner Parties!

In closing, we make a wish that we continue collaborating in the future with the wonderful people of AB in even more activities beneficial for both society and the environment!
