Can we save food for animals too?

Boroume’s primary purpose is the reduction of food waste and the redistribution of excess foods for those in need. In the overwhelming majority of cases of saving & offering food, these cases concern human consumption, i.e. consumed by the beneficiaries of the soup kitchens, social groceries and other charitable institutions we support.

But there are also exceptions to Boroume’s rule, in the case of saving & offering food to animals. Such a beautiful case happened a few days ago, after our friends from My Market notified us that they had a large amount of food for dogs and cats to offer, which, unfortunately, had no commercial use any longer. We immediately invited our favorite Stray.gr - Care & Clearing Association, the non-profit association, which since 2003 protects and takes care of stray animals.

Their response was immediate with these foods, instead of burdening the environment by reverting it to waste, giving it to the animals that are taken care of by the volunteers of Stray.gr
