Boroume travels to Crete

December, the last month of the year ended for the team of Boroume with a trip to Crete, where we had the opportunity to spread our message "every meal matters" to 231 students and future Food Saving Warriors.  

During our activity, we were accompanied by our favorite fairytale "Dinosavros", the dinosaur who loves to give, and our rich educational material. Following all the necessary hygiene protocols, we visited seven (7) schools from Heraklion, Gournes of Hersonissos and Sitia.

There we had the opportunity to meet students and teachers from outlying districts who have a special relationship with the environment. For them, food rescue and food offering is a way of life. 

Throughout the program, the children not only participated actively, but they also shared with us their concerns and questions around food waste. Further to the above, what made us feel great joy was their eagerness to learn along with their big smile, even behind their masks.

After this great experience in Crete through our “Boroume at School” program, we said goodbye to 2021 in the most positive way. With words such as love, kindness and offer coming from childrens’ mouths. We also welcomed 2022 with the hope that this world will become one day the world they are dreaming of. A world without or less food waste.
