An excellent collaboration in the "Boroume at the Farmers’ Market" Program

It was with great pleasure that we collaborated with the members and the therapeutic staff of the Social Rehabilitation of the Therapeutic Program KETHEA "IN ACTION", in July, at Panormou farmers’ market. Members in the Social Rehabilitation phase greatly supported the Boroume team by participating in all the July activities. The volunteer members of KETHEA IN ACTION with their active participation in the project of Boroume contributed to the collection of a quantity of food that exceeded 3,100 kg in just 4 actions in the farmers’ market. All the fruits and vegetables they gathered supported the needs of the Hospice for Neuro-disability and the people it treats on its premises.

The group of members of the Social Rehabilitation of KETHEA "IN ACTION" says, regarding the action in Panormou food market:

"In a society full of contradictions where people try to survive in two diametrically opposed realities, we, the members of the Social Reintegration of KETHEA IN ACTION, decided to act. In our quest for action we met the team of "Boroume", which has arrived at the obvious conclusion: Everyone has the right to food. No man should be hungry. There is always a plate of food for our fellow human beings.

So, instead of going to the beach, we thought it was more important to be active for the people in need and that we have a responsibility to show our interest in a practical way. In collaboration with "Boroume", every Saturday in July, we filled a truck with food that was left over from the farmers’ market and would end up in the garbage…. A full truck filled our hearts with joy and satisfaction because we joined forces, we united our need to help and we supported the Hospice for Neuro-disability in Kypseli.

We hope for other such actions together with organizations that through volunteerism practice solidarity. "We will always be willing and active to change the world."
