"Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste" in Greece

With a common course from 2013 for the program "Love Food" and always with the same dedication to the values of giving and care for people and the environment, the organisation "Boroume" and AB Vassilopoulos join forces again and announce the founding of the first "Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste" in Greece. 

In order to develop synergies and co-operation of all stakeholders, they invite food and catering businesses (sectoral organisations and individual companies), civil society organisations, the scientific and research community, to become members of the "Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste".

AB Vassilopoulos, faithful to its commitment to reduce food waste by 50% by 2025, and based on its experience of good practices that it has applied over time to prevent food waste, contributes creatively to the objectives of the "Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste", while it undertakes to financially support its operation.

For its part, the organization "Boroume", with great experience from the daily "rescue and food supply" at all stages of the food chain in Greece, as well as through its participation in the European Union's Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste, with special joy and honour undertakes the administration of the Secretariat of the "Alliance for the Reduction of Food Waste".

The fundamental objective of this joint initiative is to reduce food waste in our country, which will have a multiple positive impact, with social, environmental and economic benefits.
