1 month, 3 charities, 4 farmers’ markets, 15 actions, 35 volunteers and hundreds of smiles

Thu 20 September 2018

This year, three cooperating charitable institutions decided to continue the actions of the programme "Boroume at the Farmers’ Market" during August, despite minor difficulties due to a reduced number of volunteers.

With the help of volunteers who remained in Athens during August, these three institutions managed to collect more than 2 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables for their beneficiaries, from 4 farmers’ markets in cooperation with Boroume.

Regarding the work of these charitable institutions, since they don’t close down in summer, the aid and support they had from the farmers' markets was very important. Fresh fruits and vegetables, especially during the summer period, are a key nutritional element which the beneficiaries of these charities had access to, thanks to the support of traders of farmers’ markets and the response of the institutions regarding the needs of their beneficiaries.

A big thank you to the volunteers who participated in the actions, the cooperating charities for their continuous effort to support people in need and of course to the traders and producers of the farmers’ markets for their support and donation.
