KPMG supports "Boroume at School"

Tue 26 November 2019
Boroume’s actions rest upon two main pillars, the daily rescue and offer of food at the various levels of the food supply chain, and the effort to increase the awareness of Greek society on the issue of food waste. In this second pillar, perhaps our most important action is "Boroume at School", the interactive, educational programme that we have created to inform school pupils about how serious is the problem of food waste and how necessary it is for us all to act towards reducing this phenomenon and at the same time supporting people facing food insecurity.

In the context of the programme "Boroume at School" we have talked to more than 16.000 children in the last four years continually improving our actions, and learning a lot from our interaction with the students. The response we have received is extremely positive and really few experiences in Boroume compare with the warmth, joy and smiles that we receive especially from the younger students.

As the needs of the programme are constantly increasing, we are delighted that KPMG Greece, in the context of its corporate social responsibility for lifelong learning and in contribution to with the sustainable Development Goals 1,2 and 4, has decided to support our effort for a substantial change regarding food waste and volunteering in the Greece of the future. Because nothing is so important for the future than to inspire today's children in such a way that they already now adopt a negative attitude towards food waste and, at the same time, a positive attitude about volunteering and social solidarity.

We thank KPMG from our hearts for the honour it gives us supporting such an important programme!
