Boroume talks to children in Imathia and Thessaloniki about the NEMESIS project

Tue 25 February 2020

For the second year running we are participating in NEMESIS, the European project aimed at promoting social innovation in schools.  With a basic philosophy of co-creation between various players and always focusing on empowering students, who are the driving force behind any goal they set to improve something they don't like around them, the program is being implemented in 5 European countries, including Greece.

Boroume’s role as a "social innovation practitioner", in addition to participating in the creation of the necessary tools for this program, focuses mainly on visits to Greek schools wishing to promote the NEMESIS model, as well as in discussions with the participating students with the aim of informing and especially animating them so that they can achieve what they aim for!

In this context, we had the great honor and pleasure to visit two schools in Imathia and four schools in Thessaloniki, and talk to about 200 students about the program. Once again we were impressed with the high level of social and environmental awareness of the students, their passion to improve something they do not like around them, whatever that is, and the dynamism they demonstrate on an issue when it comes from them and they feel “is theirs".

After another series of visits, we are convinced that children are all well qualified to become active citizens, offering a positive contribution to society, when you simply give them the proper inspiration and give them the basic resources they need to realise what they have dreamed of for their future.

For this reason, we are enthusiastic supporters of the NEMESIS project and we firmly believe that its methodology should be an integral part of school reality.

We thank all the schools that have so warmly opened their doors and wish them all the best for the achievement of the goals set by their students. We will always be there to help them as best we can in this!
