An act of thanks to the N. Psychico and Chalandri farmers’ markets

With the words "you have been helping us for so long, offering precious fruits and vegetables for the people we care about, we would like to also return your good deed", the volunteers of Boroume and the soup kitchen of Chalandri offered a thanksgiving action towards the farmers’ markets of Chalandri (Tuesday) and Neo Psychico, as a minimum response to the valuable support of the farmers’ market traders to the municipality’s soup kitchen.

Specifically, the volunteers distributed 120 and 70 portions of food to all traders of the Chalandri farmers’ markets (Tuesday) and New Psychico respectively, thus returning the support and solidarity that the farmers' markets have shown to the work of Chalandri’s public charitable institution. The traders responded with surprise and a positive attitude to the volunteers’ action creating a very beautiful climate of acceptance and sympathy towards our common work.

Since the beginning of the cooperation between Boroume and the Neo Psychico and Chalandri (Tuesday) farmers’ markets about 3 years ago to date, the vendors have saved and offered many thousands of kilos of leftover fruits and vegetables. These foods, through Boroume, were offered to local charitable organizations and people in need, thus contributing to the support of socially vulnerable groups with valuable food, to which they do not have easy access.

Once again, we all thank the traders of the farmers’ markets for their acceptance and donation and we hope to continue with their excellent cooperation and contribution to our common work.
