CITY College supports the program Boroume at the Farmers’ Market

Thu 21 December 2023

Boroume has found excellent friends and supporters among the students and staff of City College in Thessaloniki. The food saving warriors of the educational organization have supported the Hellenic Association of Alzheimer's Disease, through their participation in dozens of actions at the public market on Chalkidiki Street in Thessaloniki, with more than 2,700 kilos of consumable leftover food (11,100 portions of food).

City College volunteers are positive people with great willingness to offer to those in need and possess environmental sensitivity. They are an important ally of Boroume in the effort to reduce food waste. In all the activities they have participated in with their positive energy and mood, they leave the best impressions on everyone. They say the following about their participation in the program "Boroume at the Farmers’ Market":

Victoria Sofiadi:

I truly believe that helping those in need is our social duty. We live in times where we witness hate incidents and people may forget what the important things are. But thanks to organizations like Boroume and others, we have the opportunity to make someone's day better, and it's these small acts of kindness that help people not lose hope. As they say in my country, "a good deed or a good word is never wasted because it is always kept in another's heart."

Kosmas Keletzis:

It was a very interesting experience for me, my participation in the work of Boroume since I had not done anything similar before. I had a great time and I would love to participate again in more such actions in the future.

All of us at Boroume warmly thank City College and its people for their support of our work!
