Cooperation with JTI in the action "We respect others, We share acts of solidarity"

Mon 13 January 2020

This Christmas we had the great pleasure of cooperating with JTI in a sensitisation campaign to support vulnerable groups entitled "Showing respect is being civilised" and the slogan: "We respect others, We share acts of solidarity”. The aim of this action was to support people in need, and to inform about the food waste problem and Boroume.

More specifically, from 7 December to 7 January, visitors to the municipality of the Thessaloniki Christmas Market in Dikastirion Square were informed of how we can all actively reduce food waste in Greece, while the response of the Thessaloniki residents on 21st and 28th December, when the volunteers of JTI and Boroume gathered citizens’ offerings of staple food, was moving. In total, more than 700 kg of food was collected (equivalent to 5.700 portions of food), which were offered to All Saints Church and the Hellenic Organization of Welfare and Equality "Pnoi Elpidas", two charitable organisations that offer daily support to about 1.000 persons.

We thank JTI from our hearts for once again standing by us, Boroume, systematically supporting our actions to reduce food wastage and increase the food supply in Greece.
