Boroume trans-European cooperation to reduce food waste

Thu 24 February 2022
At the beginning of 2022, we launched a new trans-European partnership aiming to inform and raise awareness on food waste and its consequences for the economy, the society and the environment. The program addresses to children aged 8-12 and teachers.

Besides Boroume and “Stimnuli for social change” from Greece, other countries participating in the partnership entitled "FOODRESCUE" are Austria (Südwind), France (Eutopique), Cyprus (Works Center for Social Innovation-CSI) and the Netherlands (Designathon Works). The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ program

The goal of the program is to create educational material and actively involve teachers and students, so that as future Food Saving Warriors, they can ensure a more sustainable future for all of us.

This program encourages experiential and emotional learning on food waste and climate change, while at the same time it helps participants, especially students, to develop 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, emotional intelligence and social responsibility.

Dreaming of changing something ugly in the world is nice. But finding people with whom Boroume can make its dreams come true, is really great. Especially when our actions involve children, the challenge is even greater.

We would like to thank our partners from Greece, Austria, France, Cyprus and the Netherlands for the nice trip we started off together.
