Boroume at School

Our joy is special every time we have the opportunity - through our educational program "Boroume at School" - to talk to students about the problem of food waste and ways to prevent and reduce it.

Children, in addition to appearing sensitised about the issue, have become our best "ambassadors" to spread the message - to the family and those around them - about the adoption of a socially and environmentally responsible behavior.

Responding to the new conditions imposed by the pandemic (and the consequent restrictions in terms of our physical presence in the classroom), but also in order to get our message to schools in every corner of Greece, we work with teachers as our valuable helpers in the implementation of our educational program.

In particular, we provide the educational material to interested teachers and after we do the necessary preparation with them, they implement the program themselves with their students.

In this way, thanks to the initiative of teachers, students of the "Theomitor" Schools recently had the opportunity to attend the program, in the physical class of their school. Through photographs and audiovisual material, which we provided, the children posed questions, and gained information and knowledge to then process the accompanying worksheets.

What always makes us happy is the immediate positive impact of these actions, as recorded by the pupils’ testimonies, regarding the change of behavior and the reduction of food waste at home, after their participation in the program.
